My client, a leading consultancy in the construction and built environment sector, is seeking a motivated Senior Building Performance Consultant for a full-time remote role. In this position, you will contribute to our mission by improving the energy, carbon, and internal environmental performance of various developments across the UK. Projects may range from large non-domestic buildings to individual assets and dwellings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct dynamic thermal simulation modeling using IES Virtual Environment software.
  • Undertake building performance assessments and generate comprehensive reports.
  • Review proposed and existing building documentation to support the modeling process.
  • Manage individual projects autonomously.
  • Collaborate with clients and external project team members.
  • Conduct site visits/surveys when required.
  • Support business development activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering, architectural, or science subject.
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial experience with IES Virtual Environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and Planning systems.
  • Proficient in HVAC systems used in the UK.
  • Sound knowledge of building physics and relevant scientific principles.
  • Familiarity with building construction from foundations to fit-out.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and AutoCAD.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certification in relevant schemes (e.g., BREEAM, NABERS, CIBSE).
  • Experience in energy compliance calculations.
  • Experience in heating/cooling loads calculations.
  • Experience in daylight/sunlight calculations.
  • Experience in PowerBI.
  • Experience in Python scripting.
